Instructor After receiving his BS in Journalism from The Ohio University’s School of Journalism (now the Scripps School of Journalism) in 1981, Peter Busowski first covered entertainment news (as managing editor of TableTalk) and personal finance (as a reporter for Money). In the 1980s and 1990s, he covered the major national news stories of the day, including two presidential elections (first as congressional correspondent, then as defense correspondent and finally as chief White House correspondent for Inside Washington Publications). After moving to New Orleans in 1995, he covered Louisiana politics for BNA. Mr. Busowski has also worked as a political consultant in Louisiana, serving as press secretary for Adley for Governor in 1995 and then as Adley for (state) Senate in 2002. Mr. Busowski wrote a feature story for the Clarion-Herald on his experiences in Nicaragua following Hurricane Mitch in 1998, and served as a public relations adviser to Auxiliary Bishop Greg Aymond from 1997-1999. Most recently, he has been doing public relations consulting with a restaurant in the French Quarter and one in Algiers Point and is editing a cookbook featuring the foods and heritage of historic Algiers Point, due out in November. In 2002, Mr. Busowski received his Master’s Degree in Divinity from Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, where he pursued his interests in sacred literature and theology. Since joining the faculty of the University of New Orleans in 2002, he has taught introduction to journalism and the bible as literature. A self-admitted pop-fiction junkie, Mr. Busowski is hard at work on his first novel, The Zero Factor, a political thriller.
