MS. LAURA KAPPEL Instructor Laura Kappel received her Master of Arts in English in 1989 from the University of Florida and her certification to teach English as a Second Language in 1992. She has taught composition courses part-time at the University of South Alabama, San Jacinto College, and Delgado Community College. Prior to that, she spent four years as a full-time instructor at Clemson University, South Carolina, where she also served as the Director of the Writing Center for three of those years. She has taught English to non-native speakers of English at the English Language Institute at the University of Florida and at universities in France and Costa Rica. While living in Aruba, she worked as Editor-in-Chief of Aruba Today, a local daily newspaper, and she has written numerous newspaper articles for Aruba Today as well as The Pasadena Citizen in Pasadena, TX. Her academic interests focus on composition and rhetoric, grammar and linguistics, and foreign languages.
