Admissions

Admission is based on undergraduate and graduate GPA, GRE scores, and a statement of purpose. Applications are accepted at any time; students may enroll in any semester.

How To Apply

• Request application materials from the Graduate Coordinator. Email gradenglish@uno.edu or phone (504) 280-6276.

• Complete the Personal Information Sheet.

• Write the 300-500 word statement of purpose (see instructions at the bottom of the Personal Information Sheet.)

• Return both to the Graduate Coordinator.

• Complete application to the Graduate School and return to UNO Office of Admissions. Forward GRE scores to Admissions (note: we require only the basic GRE, not the Literature exam).

• Forward all transcripts to Admissions. No letters of recommendation are required unless you are applying for a graduate assistantship.
